Provident Branches Host Food Drive

STATE — To help feed families in need this holiday season, The Provident Bank is hosting a food drive at select branches from Nov. 9 through Nov. 30. The food will be distributed to local food pantries.

“We want to help local families in need during the holiday season,” said Jean Quinn, vice president of public relations at The Provident Bank. “More than 10 percent of New Jersey households are food insecure. With the rising number of working poor families and unemployed residents visiting food pantries, every donated item makes a difference.”

The most needed food items include: canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, powdered milk and infant formula, stove top cooking items, meaty soups, stews, peanut butter, jelly and jams, and single serving meals for children, such as macaroni and cheese.
