Did I ever mention that sometimes I’m not sure what to write about? Let me clue you in, this is not one of them. Without question, the worst situation developed with that snow on Saturday, Oct. 29.
To begin with, I lost the use of my microwave about four weeks ago. Fortunately, a kind neighbor had taken me to purchase one. Unfortunately, my area lost power at about 4:10 p.m., so I still couldn’t use it. It’s a tough time when we have become used to these great inventions and have to do without. Wouldn’t you agree?
Now for the rest of the story – I was without heat and really up the proverbial creek. For two days, I slept with all my clothes on. Lucky me, I do have a niece and nephew who called and invited me to stay with them until the crisis was resolved. That didn’t happen until Wednesday, around midnight. There is nothing more devastating when you have no control over a situation. I for one still don’t know what the problem was in my neighborhood – there were no trees or wires down. I suppose it’s not for me to reason why.
My sincere sympathy and prayers go to all who suffered through this unbelievable catastrophe. It was bad and then some with the hurricane, not too long ago, but we didn’t have that severe cold to contend with. Believe me, that was the worst as far as I’m concerned. I’m sure anyone who had such problems would agree. Do you think we may be getting a message of some sort? Just asking.
