Trudi’s Corner: Age & Attitude

By Trudi Cunningham

How many enjoy the day off to go to Atlantic City? There are some, I’m sure, tell you it’s not their cup of tea, but I’m one who does enjoy it. Some will tell you they spend the bonus, enjoy a nice luncheon and walk the boardwalk, of course, when it’s a nice day. For me, it’s a change of pace where I don’t have to be concerned about driving at a minimal cost.

I do miss an occasional over-night when I was able to go, when my daughter was still with us, and I would be invited. These would be times when my son-in-law preferred to go fishing – that was always his specialty.

I mentioned the fact about my daughter, very simply, because that was her delight, even though she passed away five years ago. I do believe, she always had a sincere feeling that she would someday hit a big Jackpot. That never happened. Everybody should have a dream or goal, because I see so many negative things in life.

I have never been uptight about my age, but I do know some that are. I can still navigate and get around, thank you very much. How many have heard the expression, “Age is a matter of mind, and if you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter?” I always say, it’s a question of heredity, our mentality and attitude towards life. I do believe I’m very fortunate in that direction, as I enjoy a joke, my food and a drink or two when the occasion or my desire warrants it. Who knows what’s coming down the pike tomorrow, wouldn’t you say?
