Gang Member Charged In 2010 Elizabeth Homicide

ELIZABETH — The Union County Homicide Task Force arrested an Elizabeth man this week and charged him in connection with a February 2010 homicide, Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow announced.

Hasheek Davis, 28, who was identified by the prosecutor’s office as a verified member of the Bloods street gang, was arrested in New Brunswick. Davis is charged with the murder of Dean Bonds, 35, which occurred at 380 Irvington Ave, Elizabeth on Feb. 10, 2010. Bonds was shot multiple times in the first floor hallway of the building and died at the scene.

The investigation was handled by Task Force Detectives Chris DiFabio and Robert Wronski.

Davis is being held on $1 million bail, according to the prosecutor’s office.

These criminal charges are mere accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
