STATE – Service has been restored to most of the New Jersey residents who lost power as a result of Saturday’s early-season snow storm, but several thousand customers are still waiting for utility crews to get to them.
PSE&G reported that 95 percent of their customers’ service had been restored as of 4 a.m. Approximately 21,000 customers, primarily in Bergen and Essex counties, were still without power. Today, the utility planned to focus on restoring individual service lines that were brought down by trees.
As of Wednesday evening, JCP&L had restored service to 80 percent of customers affected by the storm and anticipated reaching the 95 percent threshold by this evening. The utility did advise that some isolated cases, hard-hit neighborhoods might not be reached until the weekend.
JCP&L customers can report power outages to 1-888-544-4877 (888-LIGHTSS). PSE&G’s customers can call 1-800-436-PSE (7734). For the latest information, visit http://pseg.com/ or https://firstenergycorp.com/jersey_central_power_light.html
