Diocese Celebrates 30th Anniversary With D.C. Pilgrimage

METUCHEN – Bishop Paul G. Bootkoski will lead a pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Nov. 19, to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the founding of the Diocese of Metuchen by Blessed John Paul II on the same date in 1981.

This milestone event is set to begin at noon with welcoming remarks followed by time for prayer and confession. Bishop Bootkoski will be the main celebrant and homilist at a 2:30 p.m. liturgy to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Diocese.

All the faithful in the Diocese are encouraged to attend. Day-long and overnight trips for pilgrims are planned. Round-trip bus transportation is available.
