ELMWOOD PARK – Spencer Savings Bank, a mutually-owned community savings bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, recently announced the that its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive will run from Nov. 1 – 18. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off in 20 different locations throughout Bergen, Essex, Passaic and Union counties and will be donated to local charities.
“We are committed to helping the communities we serve in a variety of ways throughout the year. As we approach the holiday season, we are reminded to help those who need it most by supplying them with the necessities they need to survive,” said José B. Guerrero, chairman, president and CEO of Spencer Savings Bank. “I am proud to say that our customers and employees have always answered this call for help with great generosity in the goods they donated and we look forward to continuing to aid those in need.”
Drop off bins will be located at all 19 Spencer Savings Bank locations as well as at its office headquarters. In 2010, the bank donated more than 1,750 pounds of food. This year, all food collected will be donated to Loaves & Fishes Interfaith Food Pantry in Garfield, Eva’s Village in Paterson and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside.
