CRANFORD – On Nov. 2, Union County College will host a classical quartet concert and the public is welcome to attend. The concert will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Roy Smith Theater on the college’s Cranford campus at 1033 Springfield Avenue. The quartet will perform many classical pieces including those by Haydn, Mozart, Mazzoli, and Summer.
The quartet is comprised of Laura Metcalf, cello and winner of the 2009 Rutenberg Chamber Music Competition; Angela Pickett, viola and twice recipient of the Canada Council for the Art’s Grant for Classical Musicians; Anna Urrey, flute and noted as “a revelation” and “a great young talent” by Il Giornale of Spoleto, Italy; and Sarah Whitney, violin and Concertmaster of the Livoni a Symphony and assistant concertmaster of the Greater Lansing Symphony.
