ELIZABETH-Here are more memories from Edward Levy on Levy Brothers:

“I also remember two very colorful people who worked in the store back in the 1950s and possibly in to the early 1960s. There were two sisters, Pauline and Katherine, who worked in the toy department on the main floor in the back of the store. It is possible they retired by 1960 or ’61. They were there since I was a kid in the 1940s.

“My father also ran the haberdashery department (ties, shirts and accessories.) That was in the front of the store where they had the revolving entry door (closer to Elizabeth Ave.)

“The store had for a long time a restaurant. In the early days it was in the basement and later it was on the 2nd floor. They also had a shore repair department at one time.”

Melvin Baker forgot to add to his Aug. 5th memories that he also remembers the Elmora Theatre.
