CLARK – You may have noticed “Stop Clark Overdevelopment” signs popping up on lawns in the township recently. They’re the work of a group of Clark residents who are opposed to a proposal to build a 39-unit condominium project on the site of Miele’s Greenhouse on Lake Avenue.

Last week, approximately 200 residents attended a Clark Planning Board meeting to hear the details of the planned project. The board adjourned the meeting before the developer’s presentation was completed; more discussion is expected at future meetings.

Clark Neighbors is concerned that the development will cost the township one of its last remaining greenspace properties and add to the traffic on Lake Avenue. The group wants to preserve “the quality of our neighborhoods as they currently exist” and “the small town feel which brought us to Clark,” according to their website

The 103-year-old Miele’s Greenhouse remains open, offering a selection of fall flowers and decorations, pumpkins, honey, jellies and more.
