NEWARK–The U.S. Small Business Administration is searching for outstanding New Jersey small business owners and small business champions who will be honored during National Small Business Week May 20 – 26, 2012.
According to Alfred J. Titone, SBA New Jersey district director, nominations are being sought for the 2012 New Jersey Small Business Person of the Year and for outstanding SBA Small Business Champions who are advocates in the areas of minority, women, veteran, financial services and home-based business.
The SBA New Jersey District Office is also seeking candidates for Small Business Exporter of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and an SBA Family-Owned Business of the Year.
“Each year the president designates a week to honor and recognize the achievements of the nation’s 27 million small business owners,” said Titone. “We are looking to individuals, local chambers of commerce, banks, trade associations and other community-based business organizations to submit nominations and sponsor candidates.”
During National Small Business Week, the SBA will recognize the agency’s Small Business Week award winners at its annual awards luncheon.
