NEWARK – The American Cancer Society had a little help from the Newark Bears baseball team staff at their recent Making Strides against Breast Cancer event in Military Park.
The Bears staff participated in the walk from Military Park to Broad Street with The American Cancer Society supporters, cancer survivors, and their families. The Newark Bears staff also took part in fundraisers and handed out fliers for the team’s Stadium of Screams Halloween event.
More than 12,000 people participated in Making Strides against Breast Cancer, raising $345,000 toward cancer research and awareness, according to American Cancer Society officials.
