ELIZABETH – A member of the Bloods street gang was convicted on weapons charges last week, Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow announced today.

Dyshun Legette, 29, was found guilty last Thursday following a two-week trial and just over an hour of deliberation, according to the prosecutor.

The charges stem from a several months-long criminal investigation led by Lt. William Turbett, Detective Ken Mikolajczyk and Detective Doug Fortuna in the City of Linden. Investigators discovered an assault firearm, hollow point bullets and two large capacity magazines during a February search, according to Assistant Prosecutor Brent A. Bramnick who prosecuted the case.

The defendant, who has a prior firearm and narcotic conviction, faces up to 20 years when he is sentenced before Judge Robert J. Mega on Jan. 20, 2012.
