CLARK – The Valley Road School library was packed last week for an evening parent program focusing on the Everyday Mathematics program.

The meeting was facilitated by Elementary Supervisor Janeen Allmendinger and was open to all parents of students in grades K-3, the grades where the Everyday Mathematics program is implemented in district.

Approximately 50 parents of students from both Frank K. Hehnly and Valley Road schools attended the hour and a half presentation by Allmendinger. She engaged the parents in learning activities similar to those their children would be experiencing in the classroom. Many in attendance appeared to enjoy participating in the alternate methods of computing offered through Everyday Mathematics.
