Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall Comes To NJ

BRIDGEWATER – The Somerset County Park Commission, in partnership with the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 452, will welcome the American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) and Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall to North Branch Park, 355 Milltown Road, Bridgewater beginning Thursday, Oct. 13 and ending on Sunday, Oct. 16.

The American Veterans Traveling Tribute includes several Cost of Freedom memorials and exhibits, including the 80-percent-scale version of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, a 370-foot long replica that contains every name etched on the original. The AVTT provides a local opportunity for people across the nation to visit and pay respect to veterans honored at the national Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial located in Washington, D.C.

The U.S. Veterans Administration, through the Veterans Healthcare Network, will provide counseling services on site at all times.
