EDISON — Temple Emanu-El, located at 100 James Street in Edison, has announced the following October events:
October 12: Erev Sukkot Service – Participate in a lively celebratory service that features music, dancing and fun for all ages. 7:00 p.m.
October 22: Tot Shabbat at 10:00 a.m. is a program aimed toward younger children up to six years old. It includes an age appropriate Shabbat Service and a Jewish-themed craft project.
October 30: Special Program – Mary Zamore, author of “The Sacred Table” will speak about Jewish food as part of the temple’s “Global Hunger Shabbat and World Food Day” commemoration. The event is free of charge and will commence at 3:00 p.m. The author’s book will be available for purchase.
October 30: Temple Emanu-El will screen “Operation Thunderbolt” at 7:00 p.m. This is the true story of the Israeli raid on Entebbe. It starts with the hijacking of an Air France flight, the taking of Jewish hostages, and closes with the daring rescue by Israel’s elite commando unit. The elite squad was led by Yoni Netanyahu, the brother of Israel’s current Prime Minister. This event is free of charge.
