PISCATAWAY — Help stop hunger and poverty in Middlesex County and around the world by participating in the Piscataway/Dunellen CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, Oct. 23.
Anyone interested in these causes can support the event by walking or sponsoring walkers. Register to walk or donate online at http://bit.ly/qjX1SB. The host site for the Piscataway/Dunellen CROP Hunger Walk is Christ United Methodist Church, 485 Hoes Lane, Piscataway. Onsite registration begins at 1:30 p.m., and the walk begins at 2 p.m.
Funds raised through CROP Hunger Walks support the work of Church World Service, a multi-denominational ministry providing hunger relief, sustainable self-help and development programs, disaster relief and refugee assistance in more than 80 countries, including the United States. Twenty-five percent of the funds raised through the local walk will go to Fish, Inc., which provides food and other forms of support to individuals in need in several Middlesex County communities.
The Piscataway/Dunellen event is among 2,000 CROP Hunger Walks being conducted in the United States this year around the theme, “Ending hunger one step at a time.”
