ELIZABETH — Current 7th and 8th grade female students and their parents are invited to visit Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth as they consider high school options for next year and beyond. Three open houses outlining all the exciting academic, leadership, and extra-curricular programs at the all-female Catholic college prep secondary school will be held on Oct. 16, Nov. 3 and Dec. 3. In addition, a “Discover BA Day” will be held on Jan. 7, 2012.
Benedictine Academy, located at 840 North Broad Street in the Westminster section of Elizabeth for over 96 years, offers a college prep education to young women of different faiths. The school features a state-of-the-art interactive science lab; complimentary laptops for every student; SMARTboard Learning Technology in every classroom; a Theatre program; and many academic, athletic and social development opportunities.
Students interested in knowing more about the school’s college preparatory program for grades 9-12 may attend open houses on either Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m.; or Saturday, Dec.3 at 9 a.m. Prospective Benedictine Academy students will have a personal interview with the Academy’s Admissions Director during the open house sessions, but must call in advance to schedule their interviews. Additional information regarding the Academy’s St. Scholastica Scholars Program for exceptional ninth graders will be made available at the Open House. Academic scholarships and tuition assistance for qualified families are available for the 2012-13 school year.
