BRIDGEWATER – The Somerset County Business Partnership and www.visitsomersetnj.org will present “Tourism Talks,” Central New Jersey’s largest travel industry networking event on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will take place at Maggiano’s Little Italy, 600 Commons Way, Bridgewater.

“Tourism Talks” will provide the opportunity for representatives of the tourism and hospitality industries to expand their business network, locating new product and service providers while offering the opportunity to grow their scope and range of business. Attendees may also choose to sponsor the event for increased exposure. Nearly 200 representatives from the travel and hospitality industry in Somerset, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Morris counties will gather to enjoy passed hors d’oeurves and a cash bar from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by a “speed networking” session from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Business Partnership is the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for Somerset County, designated by the New Jersey Office of Travel and Tourism. This recognition of the organization’s effective marketing efforts has positioned the Partnership as the premier resource for advocacy for the tourism, cultural arts, and hospitality industries in Somerset County.

“Tourism Talks is a unique event, bringing together the county’s tourism related businesses and affording them the opportunity to begin working together to attract business people, residents, and visitors from outside the region,” commented Jackie Morales, Director of Marketing and Tourism for the Business Partnership.

The tourism website at www.VisitSomersetNJ.org is the threshold for discovery of all that is happening in Somerset County. Developed with funds made available through a grant from the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, the website provides a comprehensive calendar of community events, accessible by all county organizations. The partnership serves as the “one-stop shop” for the county’s hotels, restaurants and attractions.

The Partnership’s tourism program targets leisure travelers such as families and young adventurers, business travelers and meeting planners to bolster visitation to Somerset County by communicating the values of the area as a tourist destination.
