UNION — UCEDC, a statewide non-profit economic development corporation, is hosting a free workshop giving federal contractor/subcontractors a clear direction on the employment compliance practices that can keep them in the running for government contracts. The event is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at UCEDC’s headquarters in Union.
The US Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCCP) ensures that federal agency contractor/subcontractors adhere to laws and regulations requiring equal employment opportunity and affirmative action. Senior staff from the OFCCP will provide detailed information on how to successfully comply with federal employment law.
In addition, staff from UCEDC’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) will lead an interactive session on What you Need to Know about Government Contracting. Topics covered include monitoring and responding to solicitations, processing paperwork, and writing proposals.
The workshop is open to all New Jersey small businesses and is free of charge. For more information and to register, visit UCEDC’s website at www.ucedc.com and click on events or call 1-908-527-1166.
