CLARK — Surrounded by family and friends, members of the soon-to-be inaugurated Daisy Troop 425 met for their first meeting and Investiture Ceremony. The ceremony was lead by troop leaders Alicia Scipioni, Kelli Kaminskas and Jackie Skwirut.
“The investiture ceremony is such a wonderful moment for the girls,” said Scipioni who is one of the troop leaders. “The girls bonded over a series of activities aimed at teaching them the fundamentals of being a Girl Scout. The wonderful aspect about Girl Scouts is that it gives every girl access to life-changing experiences and it all starts with the Daisies,” continued Scipioni.
Prior to the actual Investiture Ceremony, the troop read aloud the Girl Scout Law and then collectively took the Girl Scout Promise (oath) in front of family members and friends.
After the oath, the girls were called to the front of the room, one by one. As the girls came forward, they were met by a parent who then pinned the Daisy membership pin on their uniform. This ceremony symbolizes the beginning of the girl’s journey as Girl Scouts.
