Senior Artists Win Recognition In State Contest

MIDDLESEX COUNTY – Five Middlesex County senior artists won recognition in the New Jersey Senior Citizens Art Show.

Their work and work from professional and non-professional Middlesex County artists over age 60, who participated in the New Jersey Senior Citizens Art Show, is currently on display at Meadows Lakes at 300 Meadow Lakes in East Windsor. The show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays until Oct. 27.

“We are proud of all our senior artists and are lucky to have such a wealth of artistic talent in Middlesex County,” said Freeholder Blanquita B. Valenti, chairperson of the county’s Committee of Human Services & Senior Services.

“I congratulate all of our local winners,” said Freeholder Director Christopher D. Rafano. “Middlesex County was very well represented in this year’s state contest.”

All the county artists participating in the State art show had won first place in their respective categories in the annual Middlesex County Office of Aging & Disabled Services Senior Art Contest this summer.

The artists receiving recognition in the state contest are:

  • 3rd Place Professional Acrylic – Harold Shull of East Brunswick
  • 3rd Place Professional Sculpture – Ellen Rebarber of Highland Park
  • 3rd Place Non-Professional Watercolor – Mickey Seppi of Metuchen
  • Honorable Mention Professional Photography – Jay I. Shin of Piscataway
  • Honorable Mention Professional Watercolor – Robert Heyer of Monroe Township
