ELIZABETH – Community Access Unlimited (CAU) will host its 31st Annual Gala Dinner Dance Celebration on Wednesday, October 26th at L’Affaire Fine Catering in Mountainside, beginning at 6 p.m.
Dr. Dawn Apgar, deputy commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Dr. Alison Lozano, executive director of the New Jersey Council on Developmental Disabilities, and Helping Hands Self-Advocacy Group will be honored.
More than 550 people are expected to attend. The evening will include hors d’oeuvres, a surf-and-turf dinner, a live band, dancing, awards, and a cash bar.
CAU, based in Elizabeth, provides supports for people with developmental disabilities, youth aging out of foster care, and people with affordable housing needs.
The Gala Dinner Dance Celebration is one of CAU’s most important fundraisers. Over the years, this semi-formal event has helped the organization raise more than $45,000 to help the organization’s efforts to provide a range of housing, educational, and vocational training programs for people with special needs.
