JERSEY CITY—Senior striker Julia Caseres (Union) scored twice, including the 90th goal of her career, as New Jersey City University defeated John Jay College 8-0 in a non-conference game on Tuesday at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field.
With the win, NJCU improved to 10-2. It’s the third time in the 19-year history of the program the Knights have reached double figures in wins. John Jay (4-8) dropped its fourth straight.
Freshman midfielder Amanda Filippone (Kenilworth /David Brearley) chalked up her first two collegiate goals.
Senior striker Jennifer Albuja (Union City/Hoboken), Freshman forward Isley Perez (Carteret), junior midfielder Angelica Glover (Union /Union Catholic) and rookie sweeper Janine Casale (Kenilworth /David Brearley) each scored one goal. For Casale, it was the first of her collegiate career.
Sophomore center midfielder Brianna Taylor (Linden) added two assists.
