Task Force Investigating Elizabeth Death

ELIZABETH — The Union County Homicide Task Force is investigating the suspicious death of a 72-year-old man found inside his home earlier this morning, Union County First Assistant Prosecutor Albert Cernadas, Jr. announced.

Charles Panchery was found in the kitchen of his home on the 600 block of Green Street in Elizabeth. Police were called to the scene around 9:30 a.m. and he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, said Cernadas.

Investigators are waiting on autopsy results from the county medical examiner before making a determination if the death will be considered criminal.
