CLARK – It could have been the lure of lively jazz music or the whirlwind of flying money in a cash machine that drew hundreds of residents to The Provident Bank’s grand opening celebration on Raritan Road in Clark on Saturday, Sept. 24.
The new office, located at 1139 Raritan Road, replaced the branch previously located at 10 Westfield Avenue.
The Arthur L. Johnson High School band kicked off the opening at 9 a.m., followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The grand opening festivities continued through 2 p.m.
Neighborhood residents were treated to free refreshments, including breakfast and lunch, Italian ice and specially made zeppoles. There also were free activities for kids, such as a balloon artist and moon bounce. Plus, jazz band “I Michaels Trio” performed in the branch parking lot.
“We wanted to reintroduce ourselves to the neighborhood by welcoming everyone with a special celebration,” said Gloria Fuster, banking center manager. “The demand for Provident’s relationship-banking style continues to grow. Our new location will offer increased convenience to customers and introduce our services to those looking for the capabilities of a big bank delivered with the personal touch of a neighborhood bank.”
Visitors also tried their luck at Provident’s Instant Cash Rewards Game with a top prize of $500, and some had a chance to step into a whirlwind of flying money in a cash machine.
As part of the grand opening celebration, Provident is hosting a special sweepstakes for an opportunity to win a $2,500 cruise travel voucher – entries will be accepted at the Clark branch through Oct. 29.
