Elizabeth Man Arrested, Charged With Car Theft

ELIZABETH –Middletown Police tracked a suspected car thief to Elizabeth and arrested him with assistance from city police on Thursday, according to a report by the Atlantic Highlands Herald.

Jamie Fontanez, 34, of Elizabeth has been charged with theft, conspiracy and eluding, and his bail was set at $100,000 by a Monmouth County Superior Court judge. Elizabeth police also charged him with receiving stolen property.

Police recovered vehicles reported stolen from Madison and Chatham at the time of Fontanez’ arrest.
