RAHWAY – The Rahway High School Class of 1942 held their 69th year class reunion on Sept. 24 at the Firehouse Eatery on St. Georges Avenue in Rahway.

Betty Van Schoick Truss offered a prayer and John Basarab played “God Bless America” on his harmonica. Pictures of Rahway during the 1940s were on display along with some memorabilia.

Framed Christmas card scenes of Rahway by Lloyd Garrison were given in two categories: Fred and Dot Elsen came the greatest distance and Betty Van Schoick and Mike Truss were married the longest – 63 years.

RSI Bank donated a bag of items for each person, and a class picture was taken. It was suggested that class members meet again next year for lunch.

The reunion committee included Pauline Strychowski, Angela Servedio and Mildred Loux.
