MIDDLESEX COUNTY — Are you looking to share your skills and experience with arts & crafts or cooking? The Middlesex County 4-H Office is looking for volunteers and leaders to assist with the existing Craft and Cooking clubs.

Interested volunteers should have a love of cooking, crafts or art techniques such as painting, papier-mâché, woodworking, collage etc. Club meetings are held twice a month at the 4-H Log Cabin, on Cranbury Road in East Brunswick.

The 4-H Youth Development program uses a “Learn by Doing Approach” that focuses on the development of important life skills. Through educational projects, youth develop skills in: leadership, public speaking, record keeping, problem solving and team work.

Throughout the year youth are given chances to showcase their work at Favorite Food Festivals, Craft Fairs and the Middlesex County Fair, where they can get recognition for their accomplishments. Volunteering with 4-H can be a productive and rewarding networking effort, during a time when so many are unemployed. Middlesex County residents should contact the 4-H office for more information on these or any 4-H Clubs in Middlesex County at 1-732-398-5261.
