RAHWAY… The September day was perfect for golfers as they teed off at RWJ Rahway Foundation’s 28th Annual Golf Classic at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield on Monday. “It was a great day for RWJ Rahway,” said Honorary Golf Chairman Dr. Barry Benisch, Rahway Pathology, P.A.

Kevin Headd, Golf Classic Co-Chair and retired golf pro said, “We are so grateful to Dr. Benisch and Rahway Pathology for their Title Sponsorship and continued support.” During the evening program, Dr. Benisch expressed his appreciation to the golf committee for their dedication and hard work on behalf of the benefit of the hospital and the patients.

Headd and his co-chair, Foundation President Marlene H. Lubinger, announced that the event grossed almost $113,000 for RWJ Rahway.

In addition to Rahway Pathology, other special sponsors of the Golf Classic included Fairway Sponsor, QualCare, Inc. and Bogey Sponsors K & L Gates, New York Radiology Alliance, Siemens Medical Solutions USA and Willis.

The Chipping Contest, sponsored by Station Cab, Rahway, was won by John Moore from Willis. First prize for the Putting Contest, sponsored by Chen, Wang & Guarino, M.D., P.A. was won by John Johnston, Quorum Health Resources and second prize was won by Mark Fisher of ConocoPhillips – Bayway Refinery.

Hole-in-one sponsors were Ray Catena Infiniti of Edison and Martin Jewelers of Cranford.

Ladies Closest to the Pin was won by (PSE&G) and Longest Drive was won by Dana Hutchinson. Men’s Closest to the Pin went to Kerry Parker, Esq. and Longest Drive went to Greg Guyer.

First place for Low Gross Teams went to Larry Naldi, Greg Guyer, Peter Honigmann and Mike Kararck from Merck. The second place team was John McSorley, Norman Buttaci, Chris Fallon and Eric Dau from QualCare, Inc. Third place winners were hospital Board of Governors Chairman, Brian Leddy, John Moore, Frank O’Brien and Bob Burke, while fourth place went to Dr. Michael Bernstein, Dr. David Stuhlmiller, Dr. Ty Hartmann and Eric Kleinert, RN from Emergency Medical Associates of New Jersey. Fifth place winners were Jeff Brown and Tony Milone from Garfunkel Wild paired with John Bush and Ryan Menda from On-Time Transport.

First place for Low Net Calloway Teams went to Warren Moore, Joe Dobosh, Bill Dwyer and Dave Bogle from Children’s Specialized Hospital. Second place was won by Dave Kern, Bob Saraceno, Jeff Vanderoef and Jeff Brown from Rahway Regional Cancer Center. Third place winners were Kerry Parker, Esq., Gary Puma, Kevin Gallagher and Joe Ananie from Epstein, Becker, Green, while fourth place went to Dr. Noella Son, Paul Son, Dr. Scott Chae and Seung Rhee. Fifth place winners were Vincent Joseph, Michael Antoniades, John Marcy and Jerry Murphy from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
