Perth Amboy Catholic Student Wins Billboard Contest

PERTH AMBOY — For the second year in a row, a Perth Amboy Catholic School student won first place in the State of New Jersey in The Partnership for a Drug Free New Jersey Alcohol Awareness Contest. Fifth grader Melissa Gonzalez’s artwork is now displayed on a billboard at the Perth Amboy Train Station.

“We are very honored to receive this award,” said Perth Amboy Catholic School art teacher Rose Lavin Pennyfeather.

Three other students from Perth Amboy Catholic School will have their artwork in the 2011-2012 Partnership for a Drug-Free N.J. Calendar. They are Xavier Messado, Sarina Rodriguez and Melisa Ayllon.
