CRANFORD — Calvary Lutheran Church, located at 108 Eastman Street in Cranford, will return to its fall and winter schedule on Sunday, Sept. 25.
Sunday worship services, including a full liturgy and Holy Communion, will be offered at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Those attending either service will be able to enjoy a weekly coffee and fellowship time between the services.
Calvary also will kick off its Sunday School year with a gathering in the church’s Fellowship Hall from 9:30 to 10:25 a.m. Sunday School children ages three years old through seventh grade and their families will be welcomed back to a new year of education, worship and fun.
Continuing into the fall schedule will be the 1:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon worship service, which includes a brief spoken service and Holy Communion. Lasting approximately 40 minutes, this service has great appeal to the congregation’s older members who cannot attend a morning service.
Fall activities also offer opportunities for participating in the adult, teen, hand-bell and children’s choirs.
Calvary Lutheran Church celebrated its 83nd anniversary on Sept. 16. The church is a congregation of the New Jersey Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) serving the Cranford-Westfield area and surrounding communities. The Rev. Carol A. Lindsay is pastor. Jeanne Elmuccio is music director.
