PERTH AMBOY – Cathedral International is inviting the community to its Walk for Life and Fill in the G.A.P., health event, from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17 at Maple Street Parking Lot, located between Smith and Market streets, Perth Amboy.

Walk for Life is a fitness walk and health fair and Fill in the G.A.P. is a “gospel aerobics” fitness activity. Free health screenings include: blood pressure, HIV testing, cholesterol, BMI (body mass index), vision, diabetes and dental (dental van and dentist). Representatives from Raritan Bay Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson Fitness and Wellness Center will be in attendance.

“It doesn’t take a lot to improve our health,” said Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., senior pastor of Cathedral International. “The Centers For Disease Control (CDC) Report on Physical Activity and Health tells us that people who are usually inactive can improve their health and well-being by becoming even moderately active on a regular basis,” Hilliard said.

People of all ages are welcome to attend but registration is required. Registration and additional information is available by contacting Lauren Chambliss Hernandez at 1-732-826-5293 or online at www.cathedralinternational.org/register. A registration fee of $15 for adults and $5 for children will provide a tee shirt, food and water. Health screenings are free of charge.
