UNION COUNTY – Three Union County children won are Step Up for The Arc’s annual T-Shirt Design Contest, Jean Quinn, VP public relations, The Provident Bank and Frank Caragher, executive director of The Arc of Union County announced.
Sydney Feng of New Providence, Isabella Jeczo of Kenilworth and Madeleine Hufnagel of New Providence each received prizes in the contest, which had the theme of “Achieving Together.” Feng, the first-place winner, will have her artwork featured on the Step Up for The Arc commemorative T-Shirt and receive a $500 savings bond. The second and third place winners will respectively receive a $250 and $100 savings bond. All savings bonds were generously provided by Step Up for The Arc’s Presenting Sponsor, The Provident Bank and will be awarded at the event.
Step Up for The Arc is a 5K race/walk to raise money for The Arc of Union County. It will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Oak Ridge Park in Clark. In addition to walking or running with the family, starting at 9 a.m., you will have the opportunity to take a photo with the NJ Devils or Somerset Patriots mascot, get your face painted, participate in family-friendly games and enjoy breakfast and lunch courtesy of the NJ Masons and Applebee’s of Union.
Founded in 1949, The Arc of Union County is a nonprofit organization which serves more than 1,000 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The Arc provides a wide array of programs and services enabling individuals with disabilities, and their families, to realize full, productive, and enhanced lives.
