Charity Race Will Aid People With Developmental Or Physical Disabilities

MONROE — The fifth annual Friends and Neighbors in Action 5K Race and Fun Walk, organized by Friends and Neighbors in Action and sponsored by HMP Communications Holdings, LLC will take place on Sunday, Oct. 16, at Thompson Park in Monroe Township. All proceeds from this year’s FNA 5K will benefit people and families dealing with the challenge of developmental or physical disabilities.

The 5K race and fun walk will begin with registration at 9 a.m. in Thompson Park, The walk, starting next to Lake Manalapan, begins at 10 a.m. The 5K course will take runners throughout the park, while the fun walk is an approximately one-mile loop near the lakefront area. The 5K is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. An awards ceremony for top finishers in the 5K race will take place immediately following the conclusion of the race.

All participants who register by Oct. 2 will receive a race T-shirt and bag. All others will receive a T-shirt on a first-come, first-served basis.

Online registration is available at, along with additional race information including a course map. The 5K course is USA Track and Field certified and sanctioned.
