Flags Honor Fallen Firefighters

MOUNTAINSIDE – The Union County Fire Chief’s Association created a field of flags at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside to honor the memory of the 343 FDNY Firefighters who answered the final call on Sept. 11. The display was up all day on Saturday and Sunday, and the flags will now be sent to the people that sponsored them along with a certificate. Steve Ruhl of the Union County Fire Chief’s Association organized the display; a portion of the proceeds will benefit the St. Barnabas Hospital Burn Center.
