Day Of Service Allows Public To Get Legal Questions Answered

NEW BRUNSWICK – The Middlesex Vicinage, in conjunction with the Middlesex County Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association, will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with a Day of Service, Assignment Judge Travis Francis announced.

On Monday, Sept. 12, volunteer attorneys will speak on four areas of law in courtroom 103 according to the following schedule:

  • 9 to 10 a.m.-Foreclosures
  • 10 to 11 a.m. – Landlord/tenant issues
  • 11 a.m. to noon – Bankruptcy
  • Noon to 1 p.m. – Veterans’ benefits and disability claims

Attorneys also will answer questions from the public relevant to those areas and the legal system generally. Representatives from the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex Vicinage Office of the Ombudsman and Central Jersey Legal Services also will be present to answer questions and distribute materials.

All events are free and open to the public. Attendees should arrive in sufficient time to pass through the security system at the Middlesex County Courthouse at 56 Paterson Street, New Brunswick, before proceeding to the programs.
