Linden Police Blotter: Officers Make Weapon & Shoplifting Arrests

Sept. 6 at 11:45 a.m. – Officers arrested Elizabeth resident Basilio Jason Estrella, 26, for allegedly shoplifting $3,370 worth of tools and electrical wire from Home Depot on West Edgar Road. He was taken to Union County Jail and bail was set at $5,000.

Sept. 7 at 1:09 a.m. – Officers James Edgar and Javier Perez arrested Newark resident Eugene R. Cady, 21, in the vicinity of the 1000 block of E. St. Georges Avenue. Cady allegedly possessed a loaded .22 caliber handgun that had been reported stolen from Georgia. He was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of stolen property. He was taken to Union County Jail and bail was set at $105,000.
