The older I get, the more I think of the incidents and happenings in my earlier years. As is said, “Time and tide wait for no man.”
Many would ask where do I get my expressions from. So many (I do have more) know of them, because they were repeated often in reference to a particular situation. How many remember “A new broom sweeps clean?” How many need an explanation this day and age, what is meant by it? Oh well, so much for that.
It’s a tough world out there, but my thoughts go out to those who seem to have lost control of their children. Maybe I’m off the track, but when I read about a particular incident and the harm caused by teenagers, it actually “floors” me. Can you imagine teenagers accused of stretching clear industrial plastic across a highway, and the result of this action? It was also reported that this was also done to a child’s swing set. Without going into further detail about the situation, I am questioning the fact that although the 13 and 14 year old ones involved were caught and charged, their names were not released.
My thoughts are about the things that could have happened and the harm it almost caused. You don’t want to know my reaction to that, or do you? I would say “Play the game and share the shame.” I do know for a fact that at some point my children pulled a fast one on me, but not to the detriment of others.
