PERTH AMBOY – Raritan Bay Medical Center’s Division of Integrative Medicine will offer a variety of workshops as well as a free panel discussion on “The Many Faces of Integrative Medicine” this month.
The panel discussion, part of the “Journey to Health” education series, will focus on diagnosis and treatment from a holistic perspective encompassing mind, body and spirit. The event will take place at the Raritan Bay Area YMCA, 365 New Brunswick Avenue, Perth Amboy, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8. For more information and to register, call 1-800-362-8677.
Learn about chakras with “The Chakras Series: A Deeper Look Into Your Bodies Energy Centers,” on Tuesdays, Sept. 13 through Oct. 4, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the hospital’s Old Bridge location in Auxiliary Hall B & C, located on the lower level of the Medical Arts Building, adjacent to the hospital on Ferry Road. between Routes 9 & 18. Energy Medicine Practitioners Denise Reisert and Robin Matteo, will teach participants how to evaluate their own body energy and awaken hidden energy. Cost is $200 for all four sessions.
The hospital will also offer a “Journey within Meditation” workshop on Thursdays, Sept. 15 through Oct. 6, from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Old Bridge location in Auxiliary Hall B & C, located on the lower level of the Medical Arts Building, adjacent to the hospital on Ferry Rd. between Routes 9 & 18.
Class facilitator Vivian Lynch, RN, Reiki practitioner and integrative imagery therapist, will discuss inner wisdom, spiritual guides and inner strength with participants teaching techniques on how to quiet the mind, relax the body and tap into the spirit. Cost is $50 for all four sessions.
Learn about Reiki, a simple, safe, and effective healing practice that complements medical treatment, in a Reiki 1 Training Workshop on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Raritan Bay Area YMCA, 365 New Brunswick Avenue, Perth Amboy. At the end of the workshop, all participants will be Level 1 practitioners. The class will be taught by Reiki Master Sharon Yeskel. The fee for the course is $175.
