Lakewood BlueClaws Release 2012 Schedule

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood BlueClaws, the Single-A minor league affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, will play their first game at FirstEnergy Park on Thursday, April 12, against the Hagerstown Suns.

The BlueClaws will open the season on April 5 in Greenville, S.C. and play in Greensboro before returning to Lakewood for their home opener. Click here to view the full 2012 schedule (pdf).


Game times will be released at a later date.

The BlueClaws are home from May 21 through 27, the seven days prior to Memorial Day, and will have a special fireworks show on Sunday, May 27.

The longest homestand of the season is nine games, June 25 through July 3, and the BlueClaws will celebrate Independence Day with a special fireworks show on July 3.

The regular season ends with a four-game homestand from Aug. 31st through Labor Day on Monday, Sept..

Asheville, a Colorado Rockies affiliate, visits between April 24 and 27; it is their first trip to Lakewood since 2005.

The BlueClaws will host Greenville, a Red Sox affiliate that the BlueClaws defeated in both the 2009 and 2010 SAL Championship Series, from April 28 through April 30.

New York Mets affiliate Savannah comes to town from July 14 through July 17.

The BlueClaws will have 11 Friday night fireworks shows, thanks to Toyota/Scion World of Lakewood, with special shows on May 27 (Memorial Day Sunday), July 3 (Tuesday) and September 2 (Labor Day Sunday), while other shows could be added.

There are 10 Thirsty Thursdays, including Opening Day, April 12.

Kids Eat Free, thanks to ShopRite, every Sunday and Monday, a total of 19 days in 2012.
