CRANFORD – Union County College will delay the start of the fall term until Tuesday, Sept. 6. The move was made out of respect for the residents of Cranford, Rahway, and other Union County municipalities still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Irene, college officials said.

Students will be able to continue registering for classes from today until Friday, Sept. 2, without paying a late fee. Students can continue to register through Monday, Sept. 12, and will pay a late fee.

The two-day delay in the start of the term will not significantly change the academic calendar for the fall term, which will end on Dec. 22, officials said.
