SOUTH BRUNSWCIK — On Saturday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. – noon, Middlesex County’s office of Rutgers Cooperative Extension will present a gardening seminar at the EARTH Center, 42 Riva Ave, Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, South Brunswick. The topic will be, “Green Screens for your Yard”.

Middlesex County’s extension horticulturist will share his knowledge on designing a landscape feature to create privacy and maintain year round interest. Landscape borders and screens serve important design functions such as separating areas in the yard, blocking undesirable views and keeping neighbors happy. Properly located border or screen plants will buffer highway noise and dust, deflect wind, and cast shade for cooling. Since trees and shrubs can be a big investment, the program will also include the basics of tree care and pruning.

This workshop costs $20. Pre-registration is required by Sept. 14; call 1-732-398-5262 to register or for more information.
