South Amboy’s Dowdell Library Foundation Gives Grant for DVDs

SOUTH AMBOY — On Aug. 16, the Dowdell Library Foundation gave $2,000 to the Sadie Pope Dowdell Public Library of South Amboy. Mimi Pichey and Mary Rager presented the check on behalf of the Dowdell Library Foundation to Catherine Charmello, president of the library’s Board of Trustees, and Elaine Gaber, director of the Library.

The Dowdell Library Foundation’s contribution will be used to enhance the library’s collection of DVDs and E-games. The expanded center will help to fulfill the South Amboy community’s entertainment and cultural needs.

Pichey, president of the Dowdell Library Foundation, noted, “Earlier this year, residents of South Amboy contributed generously by donating over 400 DVDs and media to the library. They also made the financial contributions that now enable the foundation to make this grant. The expanded media center will greatly enhance our community’s access to culture and entertainment.”
