Edison Man Presented With His Father’s Service Medal

WESTFIELD– Rep. Leonard Lance (R-NJ) awarded the prestigious National Defense Service Medal posthumously to Petty Officer Third Class Warren Joseph Kolendriski for his service in Vietnam.

Specifically, Warren Joseph Kolendriski served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1967 and never received the service medal he earned for his heroism in action. He passed away in 2005, and his family has been trying ever since to secure their father’s service medal. The Kolendriski family contacted Lance’s office in March of this year seeking assistance. The Congressman’s office secured the medal posthumously less than six months later.

If you know someone who needs help in obtaining their earned service medals, contact Lance’s Westfield office at 1-908-518-7733 or his Flemington office 1-908-788-6900 for assistance.
