LINDEN – A Linden gas station attendant was the victim of an armed robbery early Wednesday morning, according to police.
Officers responded to the Citgo Station on the 700 block of East Edgar Road at 4:40 a.m. on Aug. 10. The station attendant, a 39-year-old Newark man, told police that he was approached by two men who asked if he had a gas can. One of the men pulled out a handgun an aimed it at the victim’s chest while the other took approximately $500 from the cash register as well as the victim’s personal laptop computer.
The suspects ran northbound on Routes 1&9 towards Willow Glade Road, where they entered a dark colored vehicle and fled towards East Linden Avenue, the victim told police. The station attendant was not injured in the robbery.
According to police, both suspects are light-skinned black men between 20-30 years old. One is 6’0″ and had a neatly-trimmed moustache. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt and ripped jeans. The other suspect is 5’8″ and had dreadlock-style haircut. He was wearing a dark-blue jacket, gray sweatpants, and a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball cap, black with yellow “P” emblem.
