GARWOOD — On Saturday, Aug. 13, the Crossroads is hosting a “Battle of the Bands” to benefit Kessler Foundation. The battle starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at midnight.
There is a $7 cover charge to listen to three bands—New Brunswick and Woodbridge’s Go Falcon, Edison’s The Nightlife and Linden’s Matt Koziol. Crossroads also offers gourmet food and cocktails. Friends can enjoy a night out while supporting Kessler Foundation and its mission to make discoveries that change the lives of people with disabilities.
Dara Alfano, a 23-year-old young woman from Roselle Park, organized the event. “I’m trying to make a difference in the world,” she said. “Kessler Foundation is a wonderful organization that gives so much and helps people with disabilities regain their abilities and independence. I’m willing to help in any way possible.”
Last year at Kessler Foundation’s 9th Annual Stroll ‘N Roll, Alfano raised $1,000 from sponsors to benefit the mission. She also brought a team of friend with her to walk the family fun 5K.
Crossroads is located at 78 North Avenue, Garwood. For more information on Battle of the Bands, contact Jennifer Colombo at 1-973-324-3545 or JColombo@KesslerFoundation.org.
