“…rumor has it…”

Fleetwood Mac has never been a band shy of a story ‘behind the scenes’, and the documentary, “Destiny Rules” certainly proves that…

Recorded during their ‘process’ of making the “Say You Will” album, you get to see the turmoil, and togetherness, that has kept this band on and off for so many decades…

[smartads]

John McVie, Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks are here, back ‘together’, with Christine McVie taking a break this time, and after seeing this, you understand why…

It certainly is not an easy process from them, with much of the tension riding on the decision of whether the new platter should be a ‘single’ album or a ‘double’ album, and who promised what on either side of the discussion…

Lindsey, from the start, came in with a vision…He is an artist and he always believed that it should be a double album, not only to display all the music written, but because he knows that, if it is pared down to a single, that the record company will most likely just pull the ‘radio-pop-friendly’ tunes and leave his more ‘artful’ ones in the dust…

…to which Stevie commented that…the average record buyer is young, and they don’t want to think…they don’t want art…and…“This Is Not About Art”…endquote…

And while she may be accurate, more’s the pity…

(…and you can quote me on that one…)
