WOODBRIDGE – Woodbridge Township will host the 2011 New Jersey Senior Olympics on Sept. 9, 10 and 11, Mayor John E. McCormac and the New Jersey Senior Olympic Committee have announced.
The Arenas at the Woodbridge Community Center will serve as the central headquarters and main sporting venue for the games, which feature 16 different events open to senior athletes 50 years of age or older. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the top male and female athletes in a range of age categories.
The New Jersey Senior Olympics include the following events: Archery, Basketball (foul shooting/accuracy and ‘3 on 3’), Billiards, Bocce, Bowling, Cycling, Darts, Fencing, Golf, Horseshoes, Racquetball, Team Softball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis and Track & Field.
