Edison Police To Auction Impounded Vehicles

EDISON — On Tuesday, Aug. 9, the Edison Police Department will hold an open public auction of impounded vehicles. Fifty-seven vehicles will be auction: 19 resale titles and 38 junk titles.

Vehicles may be viewed from 8 until 10 a.m. at the township impound yard located at 100 Seneca Street off of Fieldcrest Avenue in Raritan Center. A separate refrigerated trailer will be housed at a separate lot located at Truman Drive off Kilmer Road (across the street from the DMV Inspection Station) and may be viewed during the same hours.


The auction will begin at 11 a.m. in the Edison Room located at 100 Municipal Boulevard, Second Floor (located above the council chambers).

All vehicles will be sold “as is” and all sales will be final upon completion of the auction. Upon completion of the auction winning bidder will be expected to make full payment. After receiving the title for the vehicle, the winning bidder will have three days to claim the vehicles from the impound yard.

Unclaimed vehicles will be assessed a storage charge for every day they are housed after the three day claim period. All vehicles must be towed from the impound yard at cost to the winning bidder.
